FEATURED CRAFTSMAN
Joseph Ferrigno — Lead Craftsman
Joseph studied sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, where his training centered on form, structure, and hands-on making at a rigorous level. He is an accomplished sculptor whose work utilizes a wide range of materials, including steel, bronze, glass, hardwoods, and mosaic compositions. He has completed multiple commissioned works for high-end residential clients, bringing complex sculptural pieces from concept through fabrication to custom-finished installations.
In parallel with his sculptural practice, Joseph founded Ferrigno Graphic Arts, working for many years in graphic design and early digital media during the formative period of web-based branding and visual communication. His work in this arena refined a disciplined approach to composition, clarity, and execution.
Joseph also maintains an active career in film and live-event production, where he works as a Camera Crane Specialist on feature films, national and international commercials, and large-scale productions at the highest level of the industry. His experience includes projects involving well-recognized actors and performers, including John Turturro, John Travolta, Ryan Reynolds, and Reese Witherspoon. He is also regularly involved in NFL-scale broadcasts in environments where precision, timing, safety, and trust are paramount, including his camera-crane work on Lady Gaga’s performance of “Hold My Hand,” produced in New Orleans in connection with Super Bowl LIX (2025). The Super Bowl LIX broadcast received a Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Technical Team, with Joseph serving in his role as Camera Crane Specialist.
Within this context, the role of Lead Craftsman took form. This service and role emerged organically over time from a recurring need for installations that require not only execution, but a high level of technical proficiency, judgment, and craftsmanship.
Joseph has also collaborated closely with Daniele Perna Designs for over 25 years, contributing as a web designer in the early stages of the firm’s digital presence and more recently completing the full graphic and copy layout for an upcoming interior design and architecture book, Living Design: A Vision Worth Living. In addition, he has produced refinements to the firm’s client handbook and developed select graphic promotional materials. This long-standing collaboration reflects a shared standard of care, discretion, and design intelligence that underpins the Craft Installations service.
